Multiple synthetic products are used against mosquitoes to kill them and inhibit the transmission of these vector-borne diseases. The continuous use produces detrimental effects on environment non-target organisms, which also develops resistance in mosquito. In last few decades, there has been a exploration herbal extract-based insecticides. These plants extract essential oils that have emerged as potential eco-friendly alternative for killing larvae, immature form adult mosquitoes. this review article, we focused larvicidal activity (LC50 values) plant extracts obtained from various parts plants. We evaluated results numerous oil activities prominent vectors belonging genera Anopheles, Aedes, Culex, among others, had reported scientific data bases. mode action discussed with reference insecticidal activity. major limitation their overcome solutions through formulation development is highlighted. This article substitutes larvicides, may be employed illness control programmes. Overall, remarkable summary organization design, develop, optimise herbal-based formulations efficacy.
